A least 31 people have been found dead in eastern Uganda after heavy rains caused a landslide. The disaster took place on Thursday, and also involved a river bursting its banks in the town of Bukalasi in the Bududa district, sending muddy water coursing through a market. Nathan Tumuhamye, director of an organisation which helps communities recover from natural disasters and conflict, told AFP that “four to five villages”, and possibly a primary school had been affected. Documents concerning rape allegations made against Cristiano Ronaldo have been "completely fabricated", according to the player's lawyer. Former President John Dramani Mahama has expressed shock over a claim by the Akufo-Addo government that the 2017 allocation of $1 million per constituency per year expired with the budget of December 2017. Responding to a question posed on the floor of Parliament by the Member of Parliament for Mion Constituency, Mohammed Abdul-Aziz, when government would release a total of $275 million for the programme, the Minister for Special Initiatives, Mavis Hawa Koomson, said the money technically expired with the budget in 2017 as the structure needed to implement the programme was not available. But Mr Mahama is wondering how a million dollars per constituency meant for the development as promised by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2016 elections could expire. The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has arrested eight Ghanaian ladies over human trafficking at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos. LEADERSHIP gathered that the ladies had attempted to pass through Lagos Airport to Kuwait where they hoped to cross to Europe for prostitution before they were intercepted. They were booked on Egypt Air out of Lagos to Cairo, from where they had hoped to transit to Kuwait before departing to Europe. But, the officials of immigration service at the command suspected the ladies immediately they approached the immigration counters for processes and queried them on their mission out of the continent through Nigeria especially when they were in possession of Ghanaian international passports.
