CHRI AFRICA WISHES ALL CHILDREN 'HAPPY INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S DAY'



The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative Africa Office has celebrated the 
much anticipated International Children’s Day through a social media awareness 
creation. 

 The International Children’s Day was marked on 20th November yesterday. In a
post on Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative’s Africa Office Facebook page, 
the office shared some educative rights of children as well as some basic needs 
which parents, society and the nation must provide to help the future leaders grow 
in peace and sound mind.

 Other Civil Society Organizations(CSOs) and United Nations Children’s Fund
(UNICEF) have marked the day through its Convention on the Rights of the Child 
(CRC) whose celebrating its 30th anniversary on championing the goals for the 
Rights of the Child.

Aston Villa Appoints John Terry As Deputy

Reports had suggested the former defender could be given his first job in management, but he will instead act as No. 2 to the ex-Brentford boss Aston Villa have appointed Dean Smith as their new head coach, with former England and Chelsea captain John Terry as his assistant. Smith – a lifelong Villa supporter – joins from Championship rivals Brentford and replaces Steve Bruce, who was dismissed on October 3 after a run of one win in nine games left them in the bottom half of the table . Ghanaian Arrested for Trafficking

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has arrested eight Ghanaian ladies over human trafficking at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos. LEADERSHIP gathered that the ladies had attempted to pass through Lagos Airport to Kuwait where they hoped to cross to Europe for prostitution before they were intercepted. They were booked on Egypt Air out of Lagos to Cairo, from where they had hoped to transit to Kuwait before departing to Europe. But, the officials of immigration service at the command suspected the ladies immediately they approached the immigration counters for processes and queried them on their mission out of the continent through Nigeria especially when they were in possession of Ghanaian international passports.
