Call for registrations: Songwriting masterclass in West Africa

Songwriting masterclass, is calling on emerging and established songwriters in
Anglophone West Africa to register for the next edition in the series.

The webinar will be facilitated by Vincent Le Carl Berry II,
a six-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and producer who has collaborated
with international musicians including J Cole, Akon,
Ari Lennox, Babyface, Brandy and Chris Brown.
Cookout Africa is put together in partnership with the African
Union as part of the second biennial Intra-African Trade Fair. The
organisers said the event would create a "unique interactive and
educational experience that will see a song written in real time through a
truly collaborative process."
Participants will be taken through the musician’s songwriting
experiences while engaging participants in creative writing, group function,
reflection, peer learning, peer interaction and practice.
The workshop is open to participants in the Gambia, Ghana,
Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
The West Africa leg of the Cookout Africa Songwriting series,
which was recently held for musicians in East and southern Africa, is scheduled for 23 September via video
conferencing app Zoom. The session will begin at 6pm WAT.
